Suisman Shapiro Attorneys Again Named to Connecticut and New England Super Lawyers; Eric W. Callahan Selected as a Rising Star

Attorney Matthew E. Auger has been named to Super Lawyers for eight consecutive years, beginning in 2006. He handles serious personal injury cases, including wrongful death claims, automobile collisions, slip and falls, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence and product liability. Mr. Auger is a Board Certified Civil Trial Advocate with the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He is also a Captain in the Judge Advocate General Corps of the United States Naval Reserve.

John A. Collins, III, is a Director/Shareholder who concentrates in the areas of Personal Injury Law and Criminal Law. He currently serves as the Managing Partner of Suisman Shapiro. Collins was recognized by his peers by inclusion in Super Lawyers in 2006, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. Attorney Matthew Shafner has been named to Super Lawyers for seven consecutive years, beginning in 2007. He is a nationally recognized lawyer in the fields of asbestos injury, personal injury, maritime injury and workers' compensation. His reported decisions have been published by the Appellate and Supreme Courts of Connecticut, and the U.S. Court of Appeals in the 1st and 2nd Circuits. Shafner is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America as one of a distinguished group of attorneys who have been included in Best Lawyers for ten years or longer; additionally, he has been named the Best Lawyers 2014 New London Workers' Compensation Law - Claimants "Lawyer of the Year." Mr. Shafner recently received the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association's Lifetime Achievement Award; he is one of only nine recipients since the association formed in 1954.
