Suisman Shapiro Reappointed to Represent Local Municipalities

Town Councilors in the Towns of Montville and Groton recently reappointed Matthew Auger (Town of Montville) as Town Attorney. As Town Attorney, Mr. Auger work with a broad group of attorneys, paralegals and staff across the firm to prepare opinion letters, negotiate collective bargaining agreements, and represent the Towns in complex administrative and litigation matters.

Suisman Shapiro proudly has represented the Town of Groton since 1984, serving a number of different Town Councils and working with several Town Managers and Department Heads. Over the course of 30 years, the firm has developed a deep understanding of the Town history, and has drawn upon that knowledge to provide efficient and timely legal advice. Likewise, the firm has a long history with the Town of Montville, serving as Town Attorney since 2000, and as labor and employment counsel since the mid-1990s. The firm is very pleased to continue to serve the Towns of Groton and Montville, as well as several other local communities, either as Town Attorney, Land Use Counsel and/or Labor and Employment Counsel. These communities include Brooklyn, Canterbury, Chaplin, Griswold, Lyme, Norwich, North Stonington, Sprague, Voluntown, Waterford, Windham, New London Housing Authority, Jewett City Department of Public Utilities, Northeast Connecticut Transit District, Southeastern Connecticut Water Authority, and Southeastern and Northeastern Connecticut Councils of Government.

Through our representation of several municipalities, we are fortunate to draw readily on experiences with one client and apply the same to other clients in an efficient manner. Through working, living and volunteering in Southeastern Connecticut, we also understand the unique features of our clients and are committed to supporting the continued health, growth and success of our communities.
