Attorney Matthew Shafner Obtains $300,000 Settlement for Client in Bus Accident Case

4/15/2011

This lawsuit was brought against a bus driver and her employer after a 56-year-old man was struck and killed after leaving Foxwoods Casino in March 2007. The plaintiff's decedent was riding his bicycle on Route 2 when he was struck by a bus driven by the defendant. He died from head trauma and multiple cervical fractures.

Attorney Shafner argued that the bus driver was negligent in the operation of the bus and her employer was vicariously liable for her actions. The defendants denied negligence, but agreed to a $300,000 settlement on June 11, 2010.
