3 injured near Electric Boat office complex in serious crash

| Mar 12, 2020 | Personal Injury

It is a tragedy when people are hurt due to crashes that could have been avoided. Take, for example, collisions that happen on sidewalks. Drivers should never leave the roadway to go up onto a sidewalk because that’s a place that is supposed to be safe for pedestrians. The fact that drivers do sometimes end up on sidewalks tends to come down to distractions or mistakes they made behind the wheel.

It’s not clear what happened in this case, but here’s an example of a serious collision in New London. Two people were hit by an SUV near Electric Boat, and three people ended up being taken to the hospital for related injuries.

According to the story, a man and a woman were hit by an SUV when the vehicle went off a roundabout and up onto a sidewalk that was just outside the Electric Boat complex. The driver was also taken to the hospital, but they were cooperating with police and stayed at the scene.

It is unfortunate when situations like this happen because it’s hard for people to have to go through the pain and suffering of injuries from a collision. It can take many weeks or months to heal. In some cases, people may be left with disabilities that are permanent.

Victims of personal injuries like these need to know that they have an opportunity to seek compensation from the at-fault party. Whether a driver was distracted, driving too quickly for the conditions or made any other kinds of errors, they should be held accountable for the injuries they caused.
