10/28/2009

NEW LONDON, CT: Matthew Auger, Matthew Shafner and John Collins, III, of Suisman Shapiro Attorneys at Law have been named 2010 Connecticut Super Lawyers by Minneapolis based Law & Politics Publishing. Each year, only five percent of lawyers in the state receive this honor.

Super Lawyers is a listing of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. In selecting attorneys for Super Lawyers, Law & Politics employs a rigorous, multiphase process. Peer nominations and evaluations are combined with third party research. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. Selections are made on an annual, state-by-state basis.

Suisman Shapiro is the largest law firm headquartered in southeastern Connecticut, providing residents and businesses along the coast from New Haven to Providence with a full range of legal services. The firm was established more than 70 years ago and is firmly rooted in the community. Suisman Shapiro regularly gives back to Southeastern Connecticut through its commitment to many local charitable programs, scholarships and sponsorships.
