Nicholas F. Kepple is an attorney who was admitted to practice in 1989 following his service as Selectman and First Selectman of the Town of Stonington. He has focused his practice on municipal law, representing many eastern Connecticut communities as Town Attorney including Waterford, Eastford, Voluntown, Franklin, Salem, Canterbury, Sterling, Windham, Plainfield, North Stonington and the Borough of Stonington. Attorney Kepple served for over eight years as the Judge of Probate for the Southeastern Connecticut Regional Probate District which encompasses Groton, Ledyard, Stonington and North Stonington, retiring in 2021. He is currently practicing law on a full-time basis at Suisman Shapiro.
Attorney Kepple’s other practice areas include real estate, estate planning and administration of decedent’s estates, business organization and land use and administrative law. Attorney Kepple and his long-time (24 year) law partner, Robert Avena, have joined Suisman Shapiro and will be resident in Suisman Shapiro’s new satellite office at 20 South Anguilla Road, Pawcatuck, in order to continue to serve their current and future clients in the area.
Attorney Kepple has served on a wide variety of nonprofit Boards including the Stonington Community Center and Stonington Historical Society as well as recently completing a three year term as President of the Stonington Free Library. Married for 46 years to his high school sweetheart, Noreen McCarthy Kepple, Nick and Noreen are the proud parents of four grown children and one delightful grandchild.
