Suisman Shapiro, the largest law firm in eastern Connecticut, is seeking an experienced legal assistant for its challenging, fast-paced real estate residential and commercial law practice. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: document and organize residential and commercial real estate transactions from inception through closing, assist with ordering and preparing title commitments/policies, attend to post-closing requirements, including title policies, opening, maintaining and closing files, scanning documents, schedule appointments, attorneys’ calendars, and other general office duties.
The successful candidate will have experience handling all aspects of real estate transactions, works well under pressure, is highly organized and detail oriented, works well in a team environment as well as independently, possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, is tech savvy (PrepExpress, Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and Outlook), is able to multi-task and prioritize assignments, and can effectively communicate with clients both in person and by phone. Experience with commercial transactions, estate planning and/or probate matters is helpful.
