Employee Handbook Reminder
As you know, the law and trends regarding employment and employee benefits – for example, discipline and discharge, continuing health insurance benefits under COBRA, and leave entitlements under the state and/or federal Family and Medical Leave Acts – evolve and change over time. Suisman Shapiro makes every effort to keep up with legislation, trends and court cases which may affect employment policies and procedures. With changes in laws and new court and administrative decisions comes the corresponding need to ensure that workplace polices and procedures as outlined in your Employee Handbook have not become outdated.
Given the time that may have passed since your Employee Handbook was prepared and/or updated, we suggest a thorough review of your handbook to update any policies and/or procedures that do not conform with current laws and decisions.
