Elizabeth Hillmon is an Associate at Suisman Shapiro whose practice is informed by experience in both litigation and complex commercial transactions. She brings a practical, business-minded perspective to her representation of clients, shaped by experience managing matters across a broad range of practice areas and by her prior work in the aerospace industry.
Before joining Suisman Shapiro, Attorney Hillmon managed a diverse litigation docket that included labor and employment matters, commercial disputes, administrative proceedings before Connecticut state agencies, personal injury, criminal defense, and municipal and union matters. In that role, she developed broad litigation experience while taking primary responsibility for managing matters, advising clients, developing case strategy, and navigating disputes through various stages of litigation and resolution.
Prior to entering private practice, Attorney Hillmon spent more than three years with Collins Aerospace as a Principal Contract Specialist in its Avionics and Space Systems business units. In that role, she managed contract administration supporting major commercial aviation and aerospace programs, including the Airbus commercial fleet and Boeing/NASA International Space Station programs. Her experience working within a global aerospace company continues to inform her approach to commercial matters, contract issues, and the business considerations that often accompany legal disputes.
Attorney Hillmon earned her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Connecticut and her J.D. from Western New England University School of Law, where she received CALI Awards for Excellence in Trial Methods and Insurance Law. She is admitted to practice in Connecticut and before the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut.
Outside of her legal practice, Attorney Hillmon serves as Well-Being Director for the 2026–2027 Executive Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association Young Lawyers Section. She also has a professional background in fitness modeling, with experience working on national commercial campaigns for globally recognized athletic, fashion, and media companies. She is trained in STOTT Pilates and teaches Pilates within her community, experiences that have deepened her interest in the relationship between movement, discipline, mental resilience, and sustainable professional performance. Through her leadership with the Young Lawyers Section, she works to create practical and accessible opportunities for Connecticut’s young attorneys to prioritize their well-being and build meaningful professional connections.
