Event proceeds support Higher Edge students on their journeys to and through college. It will be held at Connecticut College in the Crozier-Williams Student Center beginning at 6pm.
Similar to the popular show Dancing with the Stars, six community leaders were paired with Higher Edge students to learn dance choreography that will be showcased at the event.
The cast of celebrity dancers include:
Frank “Grams” Colmenares, Community & Youth Advocate – New London
Paul Formica, State Senator – 20 th District
Ernest Hewett, State Representative – 39 th District

Immediately following the show, the dance floor opens up for a community dance party. Last year the event saw over 320 people in attendance and was labeled by many as “the best and most fun fundraiser our community hosts.” Pre-sale tickets have already surpassed 320 with excitement continuing to grow.
The evening will also include hors d’oeuvres, basket giveaways, and a silent auction.
Higher Edge, the only organization of its kind in Eastern Connecticut, serves low-income and first-generation students to enroll and ultimately graduate from college. The organization now serves 138 students with a proven model yielding 97% enrolling in college and 86% persisting to their second year.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Muddy Waters Café or online at www.higheredgect.org. They will also be available at the door.
